I’m Daniel J. Wilson, the founder of 32 Degrees Below FLA, Florida’s first shaved snow dessert shop. But before this became a business, it started with something much more personal: my family, my daughter, and a dream that changed both of our lives. For more than 25 years, I’ve worked in business, community service, and helping families find stability. Over the years, I kept hearing the same thing from parents, kids, and health-conscious adults: “I wish we had a dessert we could all enjoy without feeling guilty or worried.”
Too much sugar. Too much dairy. Too many allergens. Too many people left out. But the real spark came from my daughter, Maya. When Maya was little, she was absolutely captivated by Cake Boss. She wasn’t just a fan she loved it. By the age of eight, she had created her own bakery menus, complete with names, designs, and fully imagined desserts. She was determined to become a cake baker, and I was determined to support her dream. As a father, I wanted to build something with her something that honored her creativity but also reflected what today’s families truly need.
That’s when the idea of shaved snow showed up at the perfect moment. It looked like cake. It felt like cake. It even had that artistic, layered beauty that Maya loved... but it was healthier, lighter, gluten-free, and accessible to everyone. So instead of opening a traditional cake shop, we created something new, something inspired by both her childhood passion and my desire to serve our community in a healthier way. 32 Degrees Below FLA became a place where families don’t have to choose between fun and health… where kids with allergies can enjoy treats safely… where adults can indulge without guilt… and where no one feels excluded from dessert. This brand is more than a business It’s my daughter’s dream reimagined. It’s a promise to the community.
